"Theodora - Wonderful message, an excellent analogy, and thoughtful insight... Prior to opening your article, I was sitting this morning thinking about the foolishness of youth; mine, my friends, my children, the youth of today and tomorrow and realized surviving is a reward, it seems just too obvious to say, yet we just don't understand how wonderful it is until the tidal wave washes away and we are on the beach again, that although the beach is forever changed... it is still the beach and we are on it. Everyone faces a tidal wave." - Anonymous

Rainy Sunday

Raining today. Rainy days bring me back to Paris. That's always a good thing. The best part of a rainy day is the excuse it gives you to do nothing. Especially on a Sunday.

If I were in Paris right now, and the rain were falling down on this beautiful city, I would be sitting very snugly inside a warm Cafe'. Pick one - anyone and you'll experience the sound of chattering people, the smell of croissants and coffee. Cigarette smoke filling the room, and me sitting there with my pen & pad, and my cafe' au lait.

In London I would be at Richoux - no question. Set in the heart of Mayfair it is a treat for all the senses. Wonderful teas - melt in your mouth pastries, romantic atmosphere.
It always
takes me back in time. I can see Captain Benet walking through the door with his umbrella as Anne nearly faints at the sight of him. Ahhh...to be Anne. Lucky girl to have re-united with the man she adored above all others.

In New York - High Tea served promptly at 4:00pm. With impeccable service, and exquisite china The Russian Tea Room is the only choice for me on any given afternoon - rain or shine.

It is my favorite place to be when I am in love, with friends, or just stopping in to say hello to everyone. My parents took me there over 30 years ago.
I always get the feeling that I could look up and see the Czar and Czarina walking through the front doors of this magnificent establishment.

Always save the best for last!
