Not to another individual, but to a Universal Being, who for all intent and purposes is nothing more then a manifestation. What could be worse to a control freak then giving up control to a manifestation? Nothing! That you can be certain of.
More then that? Well, if you look at the things in your life you have tried to control - no matter what it was - you'll understand that by trying to control it - you ruined it. That's about the only other thing you can be certain of.
While going through a very frightening, and painful time in my life a year ago, I had no alternative but to let go. Why? Because I had tried to control every situation, and orchestrate everyone's role in it. The result? Total destruction of the situation, my relationships, and my family. Had it not been for me hitting 'rock bottom', I would still be trying to control every aspect of my life. What's that expression? "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger!" Add to that, hopefully wiser, and you are where I am at this moment.
Today, Faith has the leading role in my play. The supporting actors are Acceptance and Intention. That's not to say everyday is a perfect day. But it is a better day. Not to say that I sometimes don't revert back to my old ways, but I recognize it when I do, and get out as quickly as I can. Would I like to control the outcome of situations in my life at the moment? No. Because I have grown and learned and become stronger as a result of letting go. Today I work harmoniously with the Universe to insure the best outcome for all concerned. The individuals in our lives should never be a means to an end. When I put someone in that position in my life, I put myself there as well.
So, I let it be. And, in doing so, I experience the adventure in taking action for actions sake.
