Because people believe it, it carries truth. Because a family shares the same blood, they must be family. Because the earth turns, it must be spinning. Because one heart connects to another heart, it must be love.
Perceptions are based on supposed truths. Knowledge is good "they" say. Whose knowledge? What is knowledge if not the words of others? What is truth if not that which has been labeled true?
Living our lives should bring us the "truth". Experiencing - first hand - life and it's importance on us, gives us our truth. We live for whom? For ourselves, our reputation in our community, our children, or our spouses? Why do we live? To learn from others what is truth and what is knowledge? To feel smart because we can quote others? To fit in, to acquire more, to surpass our neighbors?
The truth about our lives is the truth we give it. The knowledge we seek is the knowledge we gain. The books we read are the words we've been looking for. The life we live is a misconception based on the anointed truth, scripted knowledge, and documented experiences of other people.
What if we stopped listening?
What if we started experiencing?
What if the voice inside our head knew more then the shouting voices outside?
What if we thought as individuals, and not as groups? What if we believed in ourselves? What if we took this life and made it the final show? Make each and every moment count in what ever way we believe it to be important?
Who knows what could come of a world of individuals that thought for themselves...
